72andSunny LA and Pulse Films' Reed Morano highlight the light-hearted moments of a treacherous, wheelchair-bound journey
National Geographic and 72andSunny Los Angeles explore the fearless, wheelchair-bound journey of Syrian refugee Nujeen Mustafa in a new campaign film. Nujeen has and continues to inspire others to go 'further' in their curiosity, wonder and determination, rather than just in the physical term.

Born with cerebral palsy, Nujeen and her sister fled Syria and made the 3,500 mile expedition to present-day Germany. The latest spots capture their treacherous journey, highlighting the light-hearted moments oftentimes taken for granted as those she was 'never meant to see' - from boats to trains, even to drinking hot chocolate, Nujeen pushed her journey 'further'. Through her experience, she inspires others to push boundaries, even when the doubt seeps in. Today, she dreams of becoming an astronaut and continuing to go beyond.

To capture the uplifting story of Nujeen, National Geographic and 72andSunny worked with award-winning director Reed Morano, whose success as a director and storyteller has served as inspiration for young girls all over the world.

A :60 of the campaign film will air at the beginning of Monday, December 3rd’s episode of 'Mars'.
