The team at music and sound agency Pitch & Sync reveal the latest and hottest new artists, songs and albums that they’ve been listening to in their weekly instalment of Tracks of the Week.
‘This past week saw the annual Mercury Prize take place with one of our favourites, Wolf Alice, scooping the prestigious award. Known for their amazing chemistry and camaraderie, we thought that this week, we’d highlight some recent collaborations between some of the music industry’s finest. Have a further read to find out about our favourite dream teams from the week.’
KEEP REACHIN’ BY QUINCY JONES & CHAKA KHAN
Released in conjunction with the Netflix documentary on his life, Quincy Jones has produced this excellent track with a bit of help from Mark Ronson and soul and funk legend, Chaka Khan.
FAKERY BY LUCY LU & PUMA BLUE
A recent discovery from earlier this year, this collaboration between Puma Blue and Lucy Lu demonstrates why the London jazz scene is so popular, due to its lush tones and melodic vocals.
DJS GOTTA DANCE MORE BY A-TRAK & TODD TERRY
A timeless house track, Cassius adds a bit of French flair to this already euphoric collaboration between A-Trak and Todd Terry. A bonafide floorfiller.
ONE NIGHT ONLY BY MAHALIA & KOJEY RADICAL
The opening track of her new conceptual EP ‘Seasons’, Mahalia is joined by Kojey Radical as they talk of how their relationship mirrors the changing seasons. We’ve been big fans of her for a while and can’t wait to see what else she has in store.
GOYA ! SODA ! BY CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS
Though this isn’t a collaboration, we couldn’t help but include a track from Christine and the Queens latest album, as it’s simply brilliant! We particularly love the French versions so we couldn’t resist including one of the tracks as part of this week’s list.
