Coming from a very musical family, Oliver Davis quickly distinguished himself as a composer – his work featured on numerous albums, soundtracks, concertos and television scores, collaborating with all the major London Orchestras.
Although Davis has worked across a broad range of projects, his contributions to Film and TV stand out the most. Film credits to his name include 12 television series, 15 short films, 2 Playhouse films for Sky Arts and the 1994 feature film Seaview Knights by Richard Kurti. His music has also been used on two American independent features; Russell Friedenberg’s An Unkindness of Ravens (2014) and Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk with Me (2012).
Other works include a collaboration with ballet choreographer Erico Montes called Within the Hours and one with Oscar-nominated director Sylvain Chomet on the opening ‘couch gag’ sequence for The Simpsons – reaching over 6 million views on YouTube. In 2015, Davis composed Flight – Concerto for Violin and Strings which was premiered at St Martin in the Fields by Kerenza Peacock and the Trafalgar Sinfonia. He then went on to compose a further set of pieces for violin and orchestra resulting in the album Flight recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2016, Davis released the album Dance, which has received international radio support and great reviews across the board.
