Mind the Gap: UK Advertising Industry and the Gender Pay Gap

A compilation of agency and production business gender pay gap numbers
The UK government is compelling organisations of over 250 employees to submit their gender pay gap data to a public, searchable platform. The deadline for submissions was midnight last night.

We’ve scoured the site for advertising and production-related companies so you don’t have to. Now, there might be some surprising omissions – some of these will be because the cut-off point of 250 employees won’t count freelancers, so certain businesses won’t be as big as they might appear. We want to flag up that we only included agencies, commercial production-related companies as well as tech platforms with major inhouse creative shops like Facebook and Google and the consultancies with growing creative offerings, Accenture and Deloitte. We didn't include TV channels, entertainment companies and media (apart from the tech platforms). Companies are ordered according to the categories in which they appear on the platform (and yes, these categories are quite bizarre), and then alphabetically.

And to save you time, out of all the companies we found only two had a gender pay gap in favour of women in both mean and median pay: Golin/Harris and JC Decaux.
