Michael Kiwanuka's 'Cold Little Hearts' Video Cinematically Captures The Turmoil of Change

Partizan agency roster director, David Helman has served up a real cinematic treat for Michael Kiwanuka's single 'Cold Little Hearts'. The video is a stark and striking portrayal of a father-son relationship and he captures it all, the good, the bad and the sad. Helman intersperses close up shots of candid family moments, combining flashback and dynamic present action to fully visualise the frustrated mindstate of the main characters. Also some viewers may notice that the main character is played by Keith Stanfield who plays Darius, in  Atlanta, he's one of the brothers trying to break into the Atlanta Hip-hop scene.

The video was shot on location in L.A. and the visuals such as the cloud swept background, cracked paving, tear-filled eyes and rainy night drives that feature in this video really capture the bittersweet nature of the song and reflect the lyrics beautifully.
