Messi, Ryan Giggs & a Llama Come Together for W+K Amsterdam's FIFA Doc
In the world of football each January there is only one question that matters - who should make it into the Team of the Year? In the lead-up to the official FIFA Ballon d’Or announcement, EA Sports has enlisted British comedian and footballing mega fan, Lloyd Griffith, to travel to the ends of the Earth and answer this timely question once and for all.
‘The Quest For The Best’ is documented in a film that sees Griffith interview leading football stars and everyday fans. Setting off from Grimsby, United Kingdom, Griffith travels the globe and speaks to the scout who found Messi, ex-players turned pundits - Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, the world’s strongest footballer - Adebayo Akinfenwa, Opta statistician - Duncan Alexander, Nicholas the score predicting llama and four times Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi himself.
The documentary, directed by Joe Roberts, culminates with Griffith announcing his own Team of the Year; a selection deduced by what he learned on his epic quest to discover the best footballers in the world. Griffith’s announcement comes ahead of the official FIFA FIFPro World XI at the FIFA Ballon d’Or award ceremony in Zurich on 11 January 2016.

The documentary launched yesterday on Sky Sports On Demand and can be viewed in the UK now on Sky Sports or globally on EA SPORTS FIFA YouTube channel. Additionally, a series of short 30-second films featuring Lionel Messi, Adebayo Akinfenwa, and Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, will also roll out on EA SPORTS’ online channels in the comings days.
Following the official FIFA FIFPro World XI announcement on 11 January, the world’s top 11 players will be available for gamers on FIFA 16’s Ultimate Team mode, along with Lloyd's chosen team.
