Chris started as a commercials runner at MSE back in 2016

Marshall Street Editors has promoted Chris Walker to its editor roster. Starting as a commercials runner at MSE back in 2016 (having acquired a taste for editing on his own travel footage on iMovie), Chris moved quickly to the post of assistant editor at MSE.tv and has worked alongside some of the most recognised names in the business.

Over the past five years, Chris has assisted editors Guy Savin, Tim Thornton-Allan and Patric Ryan. He has travelled on projects and shoots around the world, honing his craft whilst supervising workflows and cutting commercials on set for brand commercials including Samsung, Ladbrokes, Sky, Direct Line, Taylors of Harrogate, Ferrari, Amazon, and O2.

Along the way, Chris also collected his MSE Raw Talent badge with his own projects. He has cut a spoof comedy trailer for Netflix’s ‘Chef's Table’ documentary series, a short promotional horror-style film for the immersive theatre experience ‘Arkham Asylum’, as well as numerous music videos and content projects.  In his spare time Chris is a keen drummer and MSE’s resident metalhead, believing that there are strong synergies between his percussive musical rhythm/timing and his editing skill set.

Tim Thornton-Allan, founder editor, MSE.tv, says: “Chris is a confident chap who thrives on the collaborative editing process, especially live-cutting on set or with a fully attended suite.  He’s recognised by his colleagues here for his technical know-how, intensely hard-working nature and fast delivery.  He’s a great problem-solver with a clear passion for the more cinematic and complex VFX projects. It has been a joy to work so closely with him as my assistant these past few years and I am delighted that he has made the jump to editor.”

Chris Walker, editor, MSE.tv, says: “I am incredibly proud to have made the step up to MSE’s editor roster. I’ve learned so much from my colleagues here and from my time both on-set and in the suites.  I’ve had a great start this year working on a Samsung campaign with Caviar’s Keith Schofield amongst many other projects, and I look forward to continuing to build my showreel and relationships moving forward.”
