Marcel México Appoints Gabriela Fenton as CEO

After a successful period at Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico, Gabriela Fenton has been appointed by Alejandro Cardoso, CEO of Publicis Communications, as CEO of Marcel México.

Manolo Techera, who was previously Marcel Mexico CEO since its foundation, has decided to move on to personal projects. On the departure of Techera, Alejandro comments: "A friend's departure saddens me, but it fills me with pride to see what we have built together. I support Manolo in this new adventure."

"For me, it was a great honour to be part of Marcel México's activities. It was five years of learning, professional and personal growth. Marcel has been a key step in my career. For this I thank Alejandro who gave me all his trust, as well as the Publicis Group," said Manolo.

“Regarding Manolo's departure and after the excellent results obtained by the General Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico, Gabriela Fenton is the right person to give continuity to Marcel projects, which has become one of the creative agencies most valued by customers in the Mexican market,” said Alejandro. "Gaby achieved great business results, transforming Saatchi's culture and spirit."

As part of this restructuring process, the new CEO of Marcel México announced that Leo Varela, who has been in creative management for two years, has been promoted to VP, Creative.

Leo will be responsible for the creativity that characterises Marcel being the winner of 11 Cannes Lions so far, most recently this year with Marcel MX for Renault.
