The new executive producer joins the company with 14 years of experience running her own company Motel Productions

This week Palma Pictures welcomes its new executive producer for the mainland, Lyndsay Fields. Having relocated to Spain in 1992 from her hometown of London, she’s the perfect addition to the production office in Barcelona. She joins from her own Barcelona-based company, Motel Productions, after 14 successful years working with companies such as Smuggler, Stink, Camp David and RSA for global brands from adidas to Samsung.

She began her career as an office P.A. for Widescope in 1994, before rising through the ranks as a freelance P.A., coordinator and production manager. In 2002 she settled in Barcelona with The Lift, where she worked as a producer for three years before founding Motel.

“Running Motel for 14 years was an incredible experience. We did some amazing work in that time and I’m extremely proud of having achieved that single-handedly," said Lyndsay. "But it was time for a change and joining Palma Pictures was a no-brainer. They have a great set-up between Palma, the mainland and the Canary Islands. The team is incredible and having experienced producers on the ground in different territories is a massive plus, as they bid the jobs alongside our in-house production team.

“The mainland office set-up has the same boutique feel that I so loved with Motel, but with the added support and experience of the team and facilities in Palma. I can’t wait to get started.”

Mike Day, CEO of Palma Pictures, is excited to have Lyndsay on board: “I have had the pleasure of knowing Lyndsay for a number of years. She was always one of those ‘competitors’ who was highly experienced, annoyingly good at what she does and all of that is fused with her being a great person to spend time with. We are delighted to welcome her into the Palma Pictures team, with the view to enhancing our delivery of client-facing solutions for our advertising work across Spain.”

Q> What has been your career highlight so far?

Lyndsay> It wasn’t shot in Spain, but it has to be the H&M Kylie Minogue job we did in Mexico with Dawn Shadforth. We shot at fantastic locations in and around Acapulco, we had a great crew, the catering was to die for, and we stayed at the pink Las Brisas hotel where we all had our own little private pools!”

Q> What do you love about shooting in Spain?

Lyndsay> The locations, the crew and the food! We have some stunning locations in Spain, but I also love moments where we scout and shoot places that most people don’t get to see. Travelling in the driver's cab of the Metro and being inside a dam were both memorable moments as well, as nerdy as that sounds!”

Q> Which jobs are you the proudest of?

Lyndsay> I guess the jobs I’m the most proud of are the ones that were the most challenging, whether that was due to complicated technical set-ups, locations, budgets or limited time-frames, I love the fact that my team and I made it work. Jobs that stand out the most though are Nike with Adam Berg, Heineken with Traktor and the jobs I’ve shot for Stylewar such as Estrella Damm, Smart and Porsche. Shooting with Nicolas Winding Refn for Mercedes was also a great experience.”
