Hasse is known for an aesthetic style featuring fresh, surreal, and off-kilter comedy and memorable characters

Integrated production studio LAIR today announced the signing of NYC-based director Brad Hasse. From a diverse background in commercials, music videos, documentaries and television, Hasse is known for an aesthetic style featuring fresh, surreal, and off-kilter comedy and memorable characters.

Giving life to bacon innovations or telling the story of a crazed, overly-attached girlfriend, Brad has a unique ability to subvert an ad’s expectations into something that is both quirky and moving. His experience spans over 20 countries for clients including Listerine, United Colors of Benetton, AutoTrader, MTV, and music videos for RJD2, Gramatik, and Moby.

LAIR Founder Thor Raxlen comments: “'We've been huge fans of Brad's work for a long time. What attracted us to Brad was his fresh approach to comedy. His sharp directorial sense paired with his undeniable talent for writing and collaborating, make him stand out in the overpopulated category of comedy."

An ADC Young Guns X and FABRICA fellowship recipient, Brad excels at combining practical and visual effects with humorous dialogue, and agency pros note he is distinguished by a vastly imaginative and sometimes outlandish creative vision. His marriage of comedic timing and trending topics inspired an array of viral videos including “Texting Hat” and “Planet of the Apes Party Fun Time,” the likes of which have been featured on the home pages of Creativity, Creative Review, Fast Company, Laughing Squid, BuzzFeed, Spinner, MTV, Noisey, AOL, among others.

There's no better example of Brad's creative wit and comedic quirk than his one-of-a kind Instagram. By chronicling his recent shoot in CA, Brad gives us a peek into his creative process.

"I love mixing my projects by pursuing client-driven work as well as keeping up with a steady stream of passion projects, as I feel like the two feed into each other very nicely,” explains Brad. “I'm thrilled to work with LAIR as they are incredibly supportive and enthusiastic about projects of all sizes, and after the company summer BBQ it's also apparent that they're going to be feeding me very nicely. So yeah, win win."
