The team at music and sound agency Pitch & Sync reveal the latest and hottest new artists, songs and albums that they’ve been listening to in their weekly instalment of Tracks of the Week.
‘This past weekend saw the Pitch & Sync crew go deep down into the world’s deepest swimming pool in Venice as part of Desperados Deep House party which saw Artwork and Peggy Gou bring acid house to a unique underwater space. Whilst you’d think that we’d be all partied out, you’re completely wrong and we’ve decided to pick some upbeat tracks this week to keep the energy going.’
BANG SOMEONE OUT BY SLEAFORD MODS
Perhaps one of the farthest things from acid house, this track from Sleaford Mods’ eponymous EP has an infectious bassline that makes it almost impossible not to tap your feet.
HEAT 1 BY SHINICHI ATOBE
A tropical house track that differs from Shinichi Atobe’s usual intense techno, there is an easygoing energy that persists throughout and puts us in the perfect mind.
1ST 44 BY APHEX TWIN
The second track off Aphex Twin’s latest EP, ‘Collapse’, this release is typically dark and intense, however, the use of synth adds a extra layer of depth.
STRENGTH BY WAAJEED
Melodic and soulful, Waajeed’s latest release is a brilliant ode to Detroit house. Featuring vocals from Ideeyah with equally uplifting lyrics about finding solace, this is the ultimate feel good party track.
BEAT 54 (ALL GOOD NOW) BY JUNGLE
Following the release of Jungle’s long awaited sophomore album, it was hard to pick something this week but we’ve decided to go with this brilliant disco track, which perfectly demonstrates the group’s vocals and perfectly complemented by lush strings.
