Each winner receives a bursary to pursue further training and education as part of this year’s WACL Future Leaders Award Programme

Emily Conway, Global Senior Account Director at J. Walter Thompson London, has been named as one of WACL’s 30 Future Leaders.

Each winner of the prestigious award gets a bursary to pursue further training and education as part of this year’s WACL Future Leaders Award Programme, receiving a sum up to 75% of their training costs.

Emily faced stiff competition this year with more people than ever before (230) applying for the award, with more winners also chosen. Each applicant had to answer three questions pertaining to their careers in, and views on, advertising and media. 60 were chosen for the shortlist, who were then interviewed and asked to give a 5-minute presentation.

In a new initiative introduced by WACL all winners will also receive one-on-one mentoring from some of the industry’s most senior and successful women.

Rachel Forde, chief executive officer of Spark Foundry and WACL FLA committee chair, said: “The Future Leaders Award is one of the most fulfilling things we do as members of WACL. Every year we get to meet incredibly talented and inspirational women on their way to making a difference in their organisations and careers. This year was no different. The calibre and number of women applying makes the competition very high.”

The win comes on the back of JWT’s Rachel Pashley last month being named one of the IPA’s Women of the Future.
