Production studio will further Rapid VR’s reach into the global marketplace

Joinery becomes an even greater force to be reckoned with by partnering with Rapid VR, becoming the U.S. base for their specialised VR and 360° film division. Joinery will provide the bricks and mortar infrastructure, production resources and creative culture to further Rapid VR’s reach into the global marketplace.

Executive Producer Elliot Lucas comments: “We were looking for a VR/360° partner that would complement the production offering Joinery already has and push us further into the worlds of next level storytelling. With Rapid VR, we’ve linked up with the best in the game, granting brands, advertisers and adventurers in our marketplace access to one of the world’s leading producers of truly immersive content.”

Working with clients including Samsung, Lexus, Audi, GoPro, Coors Light and Qantas, Rapid VR has put out some of the most effective and viewed VR and 360° content ever created. To date Rapid VR’s work has reached a view count in excess of 65 million, with their World Surf League film “Get Barreled in Tahiti” with Samsung Gear VR garnering over 18 million YouTube views alone.

Along with representing Rapid VR’s full stable of award-winning directors, the alliance with Joinery is based on a full end-to-end offering, spanning technical design, creative direction, post production and delivery.

This is a major advantage as Rapid VR has always invested heavily in R&D and specialised production techniques, and offer a vast cache of customised rigging and revolutionary 360-degree cameras (including stereoscopic) to capture all manner of experiences for their clients. From filming inside the mouth a great white shark, to snowboarding with Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright, the cinematic quality and cutting-edge technology infused in all of Rapid VR’s work regularly leaves viewers asking: “How did they do that?”

GoPro called upon Rapid VR to help execute their ambitious VR film which chronicled Jeb Corliss, famed wingsuit pilot, as he attempted to fly over the Great Wall of China at 120mph and hit a target the size of a small apple. Already “The Human Arrow” documentary has reached over 3.5 million views on Facebook since being launched in January of this year.

Most recently, Rapid VR collaborated with Samsung to craft two 4D VR rides for their booth at CES 2017. One stunt enabled attendees to experience an airshow from a pilot’s perspective via a 4D chair, while the other ride dropped viewers into an exotic dinghy adventure via the newly introduced simulator. Other notable Samsung projects include Shark Dive, Fear of Heights, Sydney Opera House in 360°, Rio Olympics Experience, and LifeLIVE - the world’s first-ever live stream VR birth.

As boots on the ground in America, Joinery will be leveraging Rapid VR’s full-spectrum offering, connecting their clients with immersive content production that pushes the boundaries of technology. Joinery’s experienced production team will guide each project every step of the way, from concept creation through to execution and activation.
