Black Dog Films announces that the British Film Institutes’ Best Young Director winner, Jade Jackman, has signed to Black Dog Films for UK representation.
Jade, whose film 'Calling Home' has been described as 'brilliant and disturbing' by Dazed & Confused, blurs the boundary between fact and fiction with her work, merging her interests in fashion, music, and politics.
Jade's documentary filmmaking seeks to advance women’s rights and representation, and has featured activists such as Pussy Riot, and female journalists in Afghanistan, with topics ranging from feminist fight clubs, to the lives of female asylum seekers in the United Kingdom.
Due to her documentary work and focus on human rights, Jade has been named by Amnesty International as a female human rights defender.
Always working in innovative and visually exciting ways, Jade is definitely a young director to watch out for.
