IPG Mediabrands Appoints Howard Nead

IPG Mediabrands, the global media holding company of Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG), announced today that Howard Nead has been appointed Business Development Director for the network’s high-value G14 market cluster. 

 

IPG Mediabrands’ G14, a grouping of high-growth, priority markets, comprises Australia, Benelux, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, UK & Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia and Spain. 

 

In this new role for IPG Mediabrands in the G14, Nead will be providing strategic leadership, unlocking client opportunities and helping to develop new business strategy in the G14. He will   be overseeing IPG Mediabrands business development teams at UM, Initiative and BPN to refine and manage how the pitching process operates and working alongside the network’s marketing and communications offices to better align agency messaging. 

 

Nead has over 20 years of experience with PHD Media, having been a director of its buying department and MD of its digital division, followed by a stint as Managing Partner. In his most recent role as  Worldwide Business Development Director for PHD, he has overseen all international pitches. 

 

“Howard has a proven  track record running, managing and building major business and at a global level too. What he has done in his career to date, drawing up and actioning plans with results that speak for themselves, is exactly what we are looking for. . He adds a lot for us. It has been a great year so far for IPG Mediabrands. We’ve seen the move to the cluster system return massive benefits to our organization and having a sharp lateral mind like Howard on board is only going to draw these gains out further,” said Jim Hytner, CEO, IPG Mediabrands, G14. 

 

Nead was thrilled at the new position. “I have loved my time with PHD and the company has been a huge part of my life. The challenge to build and develop the performance of a group of agencies alongside Jim and the management team at IPG Mediabrands represents a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to starting that journey with them”  he said. 

 

As Business Development Director, G14 for IPG Mediabrands, Nead will be working out of London. He will report in to Jim Hytner, CEO of IPG Mediabrands G14
