Industrial Color Studios Acquires Invodo
Industrial Color Studios has announced its acquisition of Invodo, the industry-leading video content production company that specialises in high-quality, scalable video for brands and retailers. The acquisition was announced by Steve Kalalian, CEO of Industrial Color Studios.
Invodo is the pioneer in eCommerce video with a decade of experience shooting tens of thousands of product-centric videos for use across the digital marketing mix. Invodo leverages proprietary processes, tools, and facilities to provide a range of creative production offerings for more than 20 of the world’s leading retailers and brands. Its video services include creative concepting, scripting, logistics, full-service production, post, CGI, and content management.
Industrial Color Studios and its group of content production companies – which includes Click 3X, Smashbox Studios and globaledit – is an industry-leading visual content production company with integrated offerings designed to support marketers, brands, agencies and the wider production industry with resources for today’s digital commerce marketplace.
“Invodo is a great addition to Industrial Color Studios, and we welcome its CEO, Eric Engineer, and his entire management team to our family,” says Kalalian. “We’ve known about them for years and have admired their work, their business model and their position in the industry. We’re looking forward to partnering with them as we continue to find new and better ways to service our clients.”
“We’ve always felt our expertise in scalable video is best offered as part of a broader solution that includes high-scale photography and bleeding-edge video capabilities,” says Engineer. “Coupled with Industrial Color, we’ll be able to strategically partner with our clients to unlock the efficiencies that naturally occur between video, photography and CGI production. Our strengths as companies are natural complements, especially when the task calls for scaling up visual content creation.”
While headquartered in Austin, Invodo also operates a 36,000 square-foot production and warehouse facility outside Dallas designed specifically for the logistical challenges presented by producing video on a large scale. The space allows their teams to receive large quantities of product and create videos quickly and efficiently – employing a workflow that utilizes the latest in production and post technology. “When integrated with Industrial Color’s services,” adds Engineer, “we’ll be able to provide a broader set of production capabilities and deliver greater efficiencies for our clients – while remaining committed to the highest quality standards.”
Invodo is not only an industry pioneer, but an industry thought-leader as well. With its roots as an ecommerce video technology vendor, Invodo has published numerous studies, benchmarks and whitepapers on the importance of video to the shopper experience. Based on their findings, Invodo evolved into a product video content creation specialist, helping clients identify the most effective solutions across the marketing mix – from ecommerce catalogs to product launches, promotions, and content marketing – each designed to generate high-quality content optimized for the latest media platforms.
The Invodo acquisition follows ICS’s recent acquisition of Click 3X, the award-winning creative film and video production studio known for its pioneering work in new media experiences such as AR/VR/CGI and live streaming.
The added firepower Invodo and Click 3X bring to Industrial Color in video mirrors its growth in the field of e-commerce photography and image capture. ICS recently opened a new 30,000 square-foot studio in downtown Los Angeles designed to produce high-volume, high-quality product photography for advertisers. That facility complements the company’s existing e-commerce photography hub near Philadelphia, making it one of the largest visual content resources for marketers in the US that utilize every aspect of the web to drive sales.
Industrial Color Studios and its group of companies is a division of CoCreativ, a diversified digital commerce company offering end-to-end solutions for digital marketers. Invodo was advised on the acquisition by the investment banking firm Petsky Prunier.
