Last Friday night saw the annual British
Animation Awards
bash at the BFI. A chance to celebrate all that is great and good
about British
animation; excitement was in the air as we rocked down to the
Southbank.
Glasswork celebrated a double win as their TalkTalk
“Model
Britain” spot won not one but TWO awards. Directed by the
legendary Daniel
Kleinman (Rattling Stick) for agency CHI & Partners, “Model
Britain” won Best
Animation Commercial and the People’s Choice Commercial.
Alastair Hearsum and Nick Smalley (Glassworks Head of 3D and Senior 3D Artist respectively) were present and correct at the awards and reported on a great evening, hosted by hilarious Irish comedian Aisling Bea.
Alastair, a judge at the awards, mentions that,
“in light of
Autodesk’s decision to retire Softimage in 2015, it is worth
noting that all
this year’s finalists are Softimage users. Food for thought”.
Congratulations to all the evening’s winners
and to everyone
involved on this spot at Rattling Stick, CHI & Partners and
Glassworks..
Finally, huge thanks to Jayne Pilling and her team at the BAAs for a fantastic evening… see you next time!
