Agency adds three new senior-level hires to the team

FCB New York today announced that it has added new senior talent, as it continues its mission of refocusing the agency to fully align with client needs.

Michelle Tang, most recently SVP, worldwide agency growth for FCB, is the newly appointed chief marketing officer for the network’s New York agency. In her new role, she will work closely with the leadership team to bolster its new business practice, as well as expand relationships with prospective and current clients. She will report to FCB New York CEO Karyn Rockwell.

“I am excited to welcome Michelle, who is already a member of our FCB family, to our New York team. She has done an excellent job of helping to grow the agency globally, and now I look forward to her working closely with me to strengthen and build our partnerships with new and existing clients. This is an idea- and people-driven business, and Michelle has proven herself to be a terrific and dynamic relationship builder,” Rockwell said.

FCB New York also recently welcomed three new senior-level hires, as part of its push to be more creatively, collaboratively and entrepreneurially led.

Stu Mair, who has spent the last 16 years at Grey New York, joined the agency this month as executive creative director. At Grey, he is credited with several firsts, including helping the New York office win its first Cannes Gold Lion, as well as the network’s first Integrated and Branded Content Lion and Emmy Award and the first Oscar shortlist in the industry’s history.

Another new addition to the team is Gabriel Schmitt, who joined last month as group creative director. He most recently worked on brands spanning Bud Light, Valspar Paint and Kolcraft at FCB’s Chicago office, and he has won honours from more than 60 international award shows.

“Stu and Gabriel are strong, accomplished professionals who understand what it takes to help a client thrive both creatively and profitably. They understand the importance of pushing for creative excellence, and its role in helping clients to reach new heights. Plus, they are both just great human beings and I am thrilled to welcome them to our team,” said FCB New York Chief Creative Officer Ari Halper.

Rounding out the trio of recent additions is Raig Adolfo, who joined FCB New York as strategy and innovation director. Adolfo came from Redscout, a brand strategy and innovation agency, where he helped Marriott reimagine its role in an entrepreneurial culture, collaborated with General Mills to reinvent its relevance in a health-and-wellness–focused age and created new, innovative possibilities for Abbott Nutrition across the baby, toddler, adult and elderly population segments.

“Raig brings an impressive skill set to the team. Throughout his career, he has led strategy for many of the world’s top brands, across major markets spanning New York and Latin America, and, in his most recent role, he has demonstrated a keen eye for identifying and activating new opportunities for clients. He brings an expert background rich in holistic, strategic and innovative thinking,” said New York Chief Strategy Officer Deb Freeman.

“We are building a new chapter at FCB New York, one that is fuelled by creativity, collaboration and integration at the core,” said CEO Karyn Rockwell. “Talent plays a key role in that, and I am very pleased to welcome Michelle, Stu, Gabriel and Raig into our FCB New York family.”
