The campaign from Boys + Girls features former Irish international stars Ronan O’Gara and Shane Horgan
Energia, one of Ireland’s leading independent energy providers, is now the official energy partner to Irish rugby.

To celebrate Energia’s new sponsorship as Official Energy Partner sponsor of the national team and title sponsors of the Energia All-Ireland League - building on its existing sponsorship of Leinster - Boys + Girls has unveiled its first work as part of Energia’s three-year partnership with the IRFU. The campaign, which is in excess of €1m, celebrates the power of 'Positive Energy' that fans generate and the powerful effect that this can have on the players on the pitch.

The campaign features former Irish international stars Ronan O’Gara and Shane Horgan, who talk about the role that Positive Energy played in the most pivotal moments of their careers.

In Ronan’s case, he talks about the power of Positive Energy when he kicked the Grand Slam winning drop goal against Wales in 2009. Meanwhile, Shane Horgan talks about that iconic game in 2007 when Ireland played England in Croke Park, and his memorable try that ensured a famous win.

This is a fully integrated campaign running across TV, digital, OOH and radio. The TV work was helmed by Irish director Dan Gifford through Irish production company H2 Films.

Mark Tuthill, creative director at Boys + Girls said: ‘We are delighted to share this new work for Energia to announce their sponsorship as Official Energy Partner of Irish rugby and title sponsors of the Energia All-Ireland League. With the rugby world cup fast approaching it’s wonderful to revisit these two iconic moments in Irish sporting history and to hear first-hand from the players involved how the undisputable power of positive energy influenced their performance. The journey to create this work has involved close collaboration with our client, Energia, and is another step on our brand journey to position Energia as Ireland’s leading independent energy provider.”
