After ‘Every person matters’ and ‘Everybody has a dream’ EMERGENCY opens the new year with Ogilvy spreading a new video inviting people to reflect on a topic that will be very much discussed during 2020.
This year's theme is war: a catastrophic event, that keeps on turning people’s lives upside down. It concerns millions of people, and it even concerns us, who tend to think war is a faraway thing. And it has unimaginable consequences on people’s lives, often changing their whole meaning.
The protagonists of the video are normal people, who happen to have a very meaningful name: a wish for beauty, health, and wellbeing. A meaning that war sadly and abruptly turns upside down, as their portraits demonstrate. This campaign features the most intense pictures taken by Giles Duley, photo reporter and founder of Legacy of War.
“We’re very proud of supporting EMERGENCY," says Lavinia Francia, creative director at Ogilvy in Italy. "We're always looking for new ways and new messages to allow people to reflect on universal topics, which become more relevant every day. And can be told by humans, and deeply touching stories."
EMERGENCY is an independent, neutral Italian NGO, born in 1994 to provide medical and surgical assistance to victims of war, mines, and poverty, for free.
