DeVine Reps Signs Creation Agency Chimney Group LA

US West Coast-based agency DeVine Reps has added Chimney Group as the newest wolf to their pack. Founded in Stockholm in 1995, this leading international creation agency opened its 12th office recently in Los Angeles, its first in that hemisphere, bringing their top-notch post expertise to the North American feature film, TV drama, and commercial markets.

DeVine Reps had a chat with Filip Kiisk, who manages the commercial department of Chimney's LA outpost. He gives the low-down on everything from their designs for work in their new town to favourite spot for tacos, which is, of course, the first action item you tackle upon arrival in SoCal.

Q> With the new office, what are your plans for branded and commercial work?

Filip Kiisk> Chimney LA is split up in three different services: Feature, Trailer and Commercials/Branded work. I will be managing the commercial part of Chimney LA. We will focus on post production during the rest of 2017. Chimney has been working in post production for more than 22 years, we are experts when it comes to post. We will continue working with advertising agencies, production companies and directors and we will continue to create amazing projects together with all our partners. Chimney is Northern Europe's biggest post production house and we have a post production boutique in LA and we might open up one in New York shortly. We have two of our best VFX Supervisors/Artists from Chimney Group at the LA office: Petter Lindholm and Peter Törnestam.

Q> How do you see Chimney's work standing out in this market?  Is there something happening in Europe and other markets that you'll bring to work that isn't necessarily already present in the US?

FK> We want to give every project the love it deserves. We are the biggest post production company in Northern Europe for a reason - we care about our clients for real. Even though we are big, we always build personal relations to our clients and we want them to feel special. At Chimney LA we deliver high end post production with a personal touch. 

Q> Are you loving the weather or what? Have you adjusted to not having to wear socks basically ever?

FK> LA is the best city in the world! Half of our office are Swedes so we are used to ice cold storms and snow. If you’ve been to Sweden you know that the winters are depressing and the summers are amazing. In LA we get to have summer all year around. Enough said.

Q> Have you found your favourite taco spot yet?

FK> We love tacos, in Sweden every 'normal' family eats tacos (Swedish 'tacos') every Friday. Favourite taco is for sure the Kogi food truck! Short rib for life.

Q> Swedish tacos?! Explain please.

FK> Swedish tacos are basically hard shell tacos with minced meat, sour cream, salad/tomatoes and cheese - not authentic tacos at all. ;)

Whether or not we'll see a Swedish 'Taco' Truck anytime soon remains to be seen, but Chimney is already turning out their signature innovative work in their new home, and DeVine could not be more thrilled to be their partner along the way.
