Post house takes home Best Program Title Sequence Award

The Cutting Edge team has scored a Gold win at the PromaxBDA ANZ Awards for 'Best Program Title Sequence' on the epic television mini series Deadline Gallipoli.

The Matchbox Pictures series, inspired by Les Carlyon's best-selling history of Gallipoli, written by Christopher Lee and directed by Glendyn Ivin, chronicles the entire Gallipoli campaign through the eyes of two young brothers; starting in the early hours of April 25, 1915, through to the withdrawal eight months later.

Led by creative director Finnegan Spencer and post supervisor Benita Carey, Cutting Edge brought together a project team to manage the entire post production pipeline – from capturing and managing the many hours of camera data through to international deliveries.

Matchbox Pictures producer Penny Chapman said: “Finn Spencer makes exquisite titles that are meaningful, resonant and bear watching over and over. He and the Cutting Edge team are also wonderful creative collaborators. Making titles used to give me hives. No longer!”

Cutting Edge head of post production Marcus Bolton said: “It’s great to be recognised by the wider television industry for a landmark series that tells such an important Australian narrative. A big thanks to the whole post production team that worked tirelessly on a home grown story that deserves to be told.”
