Simona was previously Head of Creative Colour at Rushes

Coffee&TV has appointed Simona Cristea as Head of Colour. One of the industry’s most respected and sought after commercial colourists, Simona will oversee all colour grading and drive the already established department as Coffee&TV continues to flourish.

Simona has 16 years experience as a colourist working for leading international facilities from Mumbai to Warsaw and London. She has created lavish grades on hundreds of major campaigns with industry leading talents including Rankin, Sam Taylor-Wood and Vicky Lawton. Colour has always been an integral part of her life as an internationally exhibited artist, with shows in Paris, Milan and her native Bucharest. This background in art has helped Simona carve out an outstanding reputation for the excellence of her work and distinct visual style.

Simona’s portfolio illustrates her stunning and diverse talent; including high-profile beauty work for major fashion labels, famous car commercials, broadcast promos and highly stylised music videos. Recent projects include carefully crafted work for Chanel, BBC, Jaguar, Virgin, Adidas, Prada, Ballantines, Audi, Lancôme and Ducati. Simona has collected numerous international awards, most notably this year she received two Kinsale gold awards for her work on Björk 'notget' and Freya Ridings 'Maps' directed by James Fitzgerald and shot by Aidan Gault; she also won the Best Grade award at the Ibiza Music Video Festival for Funeral Suits promo 'The way back'.

Coffee&TV’s Senior Colourist Dan Moran will be relocating to the West Country in early 2018 and will continue to work within the grading team. This latest appointment for the company highlights Coffee&TV’s continued expansion following two key hires in September; the team welcomed Josh George, a renowned CG sculptor, generalist and illustrator, and highly regarded post-producer, Lydia Evitt.

Derek Moore, CEO and Co-Founder, Coffee&TV said: “The team and I are elated to end 2017 with Simona choosing to come to Coffee&TV. She is an exceptional colourist and a lovely person and is at a pivotal point in her career. We are thrilled to be able to offer her incredible skill and talent to our clients. She had the opportunity to join many of the top studios in town, but decided we were the right fit for her.  Which is a true testament to the culture and ethos of our company.”

Simona Cristea said: “Having worked with some of Coffee&TV’s founders before I have always admired the company from afar, and kept an eye on some of their phenomenal work. With the business achieving continued success, I know Coffee&TV is the right choice for me, both personally and professionally. I am excited to discover what we can create together!”
