The Grand Award for Social Good was presented by Citi to TBWA\Chiat\Day for “Sisters in Sweat”. Citi’s mission is to enable progress for its clients and for the communities it serves. In wanting to help people feel good and optimistic about what’s next for them, Citi has committed to a host of social good initiatives.

As part of the onstage presentation, Tad Ehrbar, senior vice president, Entertainment & Sports Marketing for Citi, awarded $5,000 to the foundation of this year’s Social Good Grand Winner, Girls in the Game, a nonprofit organization that empowers all girls to be gamechangers. Cory Rothschild, marketing director at Gatorade joined TBWA\Chiat\Day agency executives, Creative Director Kirsten Rutherford and Brand Director Robyn Morris, onstage to accept both the award and donation.

“We are proud to support Clio Sports and this exceptional evening that celebrates the best in sports advertising and marketing,” said Ehrbar.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders hosted this year’s ceremony, which was held at Capitale. In addition to the Grand Clio Sports presentations, Former major league baseball player Carlos Beltrán received the Clio Sports Impact Award.

The inaugural honour is in recognition of an athlete’s philanthropic work, transcending the game to show the social and cultural impact that athletes and athletics have on people across the globe.

Clio Sports was launched in 2014. Clio Sports awards are given to athletes, leagues and associations, media and news outlets, teams, and brands that have produced exemplary creative work that pushes boundaries and demonstrates ahead-of-the-curve thinking.
