The London-based post-house is known for its high quality VFX in TVC post-production

Known for its high quality VFX in TVC post-production, the London-based boutique post-house Cherry Cherry is continuing to build on the specialist expertise of its new long form department as a part of a mission that has been on the agenda since CEO Gavin Hay took the helm in early 2018.

Last year the company hit the ground running by securing two upcoming BBC drama series, which will air later on in 2019. They have started work as sole VFX vendor (including on-site supervision), for ‘The Mallorca Files’, a 10-episode police drama series for the BBC, set in the Balearic Islands. The series is a co-production between Cosmopolitan Pictures and Clerkenwell Films.

Creative director, Hugo Saunders, says “We are really excited to start work on projects like this, which allows us to bring our expertise in VFX from the commercials side into our new department. It is a natural progression for us, spearheaded by Gavin and reflects the industry need for flexibility to work in all aspects of post-production”.

Also on the agenda for early 2019 is the VFX for the new upcoming series of ‘Trust Me’ for BBC Scotland. With the success of the first season, and shooting well underway, Cherry Cherry have been commissioned by, and working in collaboration with, the series producers at RED production company.

CEO Gavin Hay (pictured) is well known as the founder and former managing director of Brighter Pictures, a top five independent that was purchased in 2001 by the now Endemol Shine Group. This former company has a rich history in TV production, stretching back decades, and it was Gavin’s active plan to bring the talents of Cherry Cherry into the world of long-form drama production from the onset.
