LOLA MullenLowe has announced that Amaya Coronado has been named chief executive officer of the agency, overseeing its offices in Madrid and Barcelona. Until now, Amaya was head of strategy in the Madrid office, and has been part of the management team for the past four years. She is a renowned strategy professional and is one of the founding members of the original LOLA (Lowe Latina) launched in 2006.

Amaya is a proven strategy and business leader with a deep understanding of the industry today, both internationally and locally. She has been indispensable in growing the agency´s business for cliens like Unilever’s Magnum and Cornetto, Burger King, Mattel and Pescanova, among others. She has also been critical in building LOLA’s culture and team, resulting in the successful growth of the agency and being one of the most attractive agencies to work for, five years running. More recently she has been responsible for giving support to other offices in the MullenLowe Group Western European  region to lead them in the same direction. Her 20 plus years of experience solidify her credentials.

Amaya takes over from Miguel Simoes who has been promoted to CEO Western Europe for the MullenLowe Group, which includes France, Germany, Spain and Portugal. He will be supporting Amaya closely to make her transition into the new role seamless.

“In light of LOLA’s on-going success, my new regional role and Amaya´s unquestionable track record, my intention was to establish a more direct and present leadership in Spain. Amaya is someone who is aligned with our values, a true ambassador to our culture and an asset to our clients.  She embodies our reason for existing and I am very proud to be handing the reigns to her,” says Miguel Simoes, CEO Western Europe for the MullenLowe Group.

Amaya is from Madrid and she began her career after receiving an honours degree from Humberside University, UK in European Business Administration. She has an MBA from Edith Cowan University, Australia, is an active member of the APG (planning group) and Spanish Creative Club; a member of the Effies Jury club, and IPG Leadership Lab. She has previously worked at Publicis/Casadevall Pedreño, SCPF, TBWA, and BDDP/Mancebo Kaye.

LOLA MullenLowe is currently one of the most highly-decorated and creative agencies in Spain and Latin America, with a growing reputation in the UK and US markets. This year Amaya’s strategy team helped to grow their business by winning acclaimed clients such as PG Tips, Cabify, San Miguel, Pescanova, and Toys R Us among others. They were named agency of the year at El Sol, El Ojo, won five Gold Effies and were ranked 12th in the world at Cannes after taking home 15 lions. Scary Clown Night, their campaign for Burger King global, was the most effective promotion in the history of the brand and The Hidden Flag campaign for LGTBQ rights was among the most talked about events in the world this year.
