Razorfish leads pack with eight nominations

The British Interactive Media Association has announced the shortlist for the 30th anniversary of the BIMA Awards.

Razorfish leads the list of contenders, with eight entries in the running. Its YouTube initiative for Unilever, All Things Hair, is up for five awards. R/GA and Jam both have seven nominations.

Other companies with multiple entries on the list include agencies e3, Isobar, LIDA, Lowe Profero, Poke, DigitasLBi, FutureLearn, Iris, SapientNitro and We Are Social.

This year’s judging panel once again saw a significant increase in agencies entering social initiatives, with submissions into the Social Media category up 21% year-on-year. The User Experience category also saw a large increase with entries up 57%.

This year also saw BIMA introduce a number of new awards categories in recognition of the ever-evolving nature of the industry. New categories for 2014 include Data, Location and Second Screen.

All shortlisted entrants can be viewed here.

The winners will be announced at an industry-wide party at B1 Bloomsbury on the evening of Thursday 18 September. Tickets to the ceremony are available at the BIMA Awards site.

The BIMA Awards are judged by people of influence within the UK digital sector. This year’s panel included digital experts from brands and agencies including National Trust, BBC Worldwide, AKQA, DigitasLBi, Oxfam and Mondelez International.

Adam Graham, Chair of BIMA said: “It’s great to see that in the 30th year of the BIMA Awards, the digital sector remains as dynamic and exciting as it’s ever been. The increase in entries and the quality of submissions this year show that British digital really is going from strength to strength. We’re looking forward to celebrating at what will be the biggest BIMA Awards party ever on 18 September!”
