Over the course of Ed’s advertising career, he has focused predominantly on Marketing Technology and Innovation. He has worked as a Technical Producer (Target McConnells), Creative Technologist (Folk Wunderman Thompson) and currently holds the position of Head of Innovation with BBDO in their Dublin office.
Since 2013, Ed has gained experience running agile technology teams, start-ups and agency departments and has served international brands, corporations and semi states with cutting edge innovations. While once his specialism lay in responding to creative briefs that required a technological or digital element, now, with technology being a cornerstone of consumer life, it’s in responding to all creative briefs.
Ed has won a selection of international awards for his work including a Cannes Lion (Sustainable Development Goals), Clio (Direct), Eurobest (Brand Experience & Activation, Direct) and European Excellence Award (PR) as well as numerous other national awards. In 2022, Ed represented Ireland as a Cannes Lions juror in the Brand Experience and Activation category. He also judged the digital category at the 2022 Dubai Lynx.
With emphasis moving onto how best to use technology as an invisible enabler of CX, Ed is of the firm belief that innovation will play a crucial role within the industry over the next 5 years.
