
Joanna joined FCB Brasil in September 2012. In the span of only four years, she won 39 Lions at the Cannes Festival, including one Grand Prix in the Mobile category in 2014, when the agency had one of the best performances among all the Brazilian agencies at the Festival. Working as FCB Brasil’s VP and Creative Director in 2014, Joanna was crowned Business Insider’s most creative woman in advertising – featured as the only Brazilian on the list – and was also ranked among the Big Report’s Top 10 most award-winning creative directors in the world. She was also declared a “Woman to Watch” by Advertising Age, and was counted among the 2014 Ad Age Creativity 50. In 2015, Joanna was listed as one of the 30 most creative people in advertising according to Business Insider and served as president of the Mobile Jury at Cannes. In 2016 she was President of Integrated & Innovative Media at D&AD and, since 2017, she has been part of the Advisory Board of D&AD.
Joanna began her professional advertising career as a copywriter trainee at Ogilvy (1996), and worked as a copywriter at DPZ (1997-99), W/Brasil (1999-02) and Africa Advertising (2002-12), three iconic ad agencies in Brazil. The product of two academic powerhouses, Joanna graduated with an Arts degree from Brasilia University (UnB), and earned her postgraduate degree in Advertising and Marketing from ESPM, one of the top ranking institutes of higher learning in Brazil, known for academic excellence in communication, marketing and business management.
