Takeshi Takada
Born in Japan and educated in Brisbane before returning to Tokyo, Alt.vfx founder and executive producer Takeshi Takada spent eight years working in marketing for worldwide advertising agencies and IT companies. Upon returning to Australia, he spent 5 years at a leading post production studio as Producer, where his marketing focused vision helped propel the company’s growth. Harnessing his deep knowledge of branding, business and post-production, he went on to form Alt.vfx alongside business partner Colin Renshaw in 2011.

Thanks to his company’s approach to clients and the incredibly creative work that the company has produced since its inception, Takeshi has led the company’s growth in export markets. While globally focused, Alt.vfx are continuing to earn the respect of the local and national production market, with their studios in both Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne becoming a thriving creative hub for the city’s production communities. In recent years, Alt also added studios in Los Angeles and Tokyo, extending their reach across many Pan-Pacific markets.

Consistently innovating, the company has developed an emerging technologies arm – T&DA – which operates in the AR/VR/XR space and produceswork for brands and organization worldwide. That ability to effectively transform aspects of their business has also led Alt to launch their business into the world of film and television, helping to enhance Australia’s reputation as a global leader in the world of VFX and post production.

Takeshi is one of the most awarded Executive Producers within the post-production industry in the APAC region. His previous appointments as a board member for Screen QLD and a member of the Brisbane Lord Mayor's Creative Advisory board are all testament to his success and ongoing contributions to the industry. Most recently, he joined the inaugural Griffith Film School Industry Advisory Board, an organisation designed to advise and develop the screen industry professionals of tomorrow.

Other honours bestowed upon Takeshi include being named Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Person of the Year and NBA Ethnic Business Award Business Person of the Year. He was also featured in the Courier Mail’s Top 20 under 40 list in 2015, a list that highlights a selection of the most prominent and successful young business leaders in Queensland.
