Our next breakfast session, Young and Disengaged, will be taking place on the 23rd April at our offices.
The discussion panel will examine why 16 – 24 year olds are increasingly detached and disengaged from the mainstream, how marketeers can tap into their world and who is currently getting it right.
With eight out of ten young people believing that the media does not portray them accurately and 73% believing social media is a force for change, greater than politics and corporations, it is not surprising that ‘traditional’ approaches to marketing and communications leave them cold.
So who are this generation? What motivates them, what engages them and how can organisations start to harness the extraordinary creativity, influence and value they possess?
It promises to be a fascinating discussion drawing on perspectives from inside and outside the industry.
Our panel includes:
Chris Preddie, the youngest man to receive an OBE, who has made his name mentoring young groups involved in knife and gun crime. He has used art, rap and poetry to reach them in new and innovative ways.
Rajiv Nathwani, Social Media Manager for BBC Television. Rajiv's experiences have given him a brilliant understanding of the complexities of addressing a young, fast paced, digital audience.
