AD STARS is inviting agencies, creatives, production companies, students and advertising enthusiasts from all over the world to submit their entries to the 10th AD STARS Awards before 15th June 2017.
With more than 20,000 entries anticipated in 2017 from over 70 countries, AD STARS is the biggest advertising awards show in Asia and the only festival with a US$10,000 cash prize for Grand Prix of the Year winners.
Established in 2008, AD STARS will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Busan, South Korea, from 24th to 26th August. With the theme ‘Creativity +-x÷Technology’, AD STARS 2017 will commemorate this 10th birthday milestone with no less than five separate conferences and events coming together at Bexco (Busan Exhibition and Conference Centre).
AD STARS has partnered with AFAA (Asian Federation of Advertising Associations), and will host the AFAA Forum as part of this year’s festival. The AFAA forum will delve into Asian advertising industry trends and issues and bring AdAsia and DigiAsia – two biannual AFAA events – to South Korea. During AD STARS 2017, delegates from the AFAA will meet to discuss the future development strategy of the Asian advertising industry.
The AD STARS 10th anniversary program will also explore trends in advertising and digital marketing related to the “fourth industrial revolution”, which has become a hot topic globally over the past year, while in Bexco’s public exhibition area, AD STARS will celebrate the history of the festival over the past decade.
“One of the big differences at AD STARS is its openness. We welcome entries 365 days a year, online and offline, and it is free to enter AD STARS – these are the two secrets to the festival’s growth. We continue to evolve, and our 10th anniversary program will be our biggest and bravest yet,” says Eui Ja Lee, Co-chair of the AD STARS Executive Committee.
AD STARS has also unveiled a bold new identity – a bright, colourful star, which represents the vibrancy of the global creative and technology sectors, and was designed by award-winning design agency Oricom in Seoul.
“When AD STARS launched in 2008, it was our vision was to create a truly democratic festival where everyone with an interesting creative idea can win – even non-professionals. This model has proven to be a huge success, and AD STARS is one of the fastest growing creative festivals in the world. We would like to thank Oricom for designing an identity that reflects the vibrancy of our 10th anniversary program,” says Hwan Jin Choi, Co-chairs of the AD STARS Executive Committee.
