CGMA - Ready for the next… The second of our brand films for CIMA depicts a futuristic conference meeting in which a CEO communicates with CGMA’s around the world. Chartered Global Management Accountants are financial professionals who not only understand finance & accounts but strategy, operations, human element and performance. The concept we developed therefore, illustrates characters placed at the heart of business decision-making. A holographic screen provides live links to our CGMA’s around the world, accompanied by imagery illustrating their activities. Shot at the Grange Hotel, St Pauls, the action centres around Charlotte (Meryl Griffiths & her co-worker (Freya Berry) with CGMA’s reporting in via our high-tech screen. Loco’s Creative Director, Dan Coster supervised the VFX shots and worked closely with Director, Darren Statman and DoP, Sam Care during the four hour shoot. Lee Bamsey, Loco’s senior VFX artist constructed a futuristic scenario, bringing the activities of our CGMA’s to life. Using a hand held ‘holographic device’ contacts from global business centres are linked in, providing insight to their roles, and the value brought to their organisations. Extensive post-production by Loco also drew upon the editing skills of Aidan Taub, with additional VFX work by Jon Davey and Maya 3D sequences by Saša McCartney. David Poole, Group Creative Director at Loveurope, comments 'The script reflects the types of decisions and results a CGMA can expect to make, whilst still retaining a human sense within this worldwide community'. Executive Producer, Chris McKeeman adds 'The more observant viewers will notice our characters from the CIMA – ‘Who We Are’ film, portrayed at future points in their careers, which helps reinforce development paths for the organisations prospective recruits'. Special thanks to Paul-Étienne CÔTÉ and the team at Circonflex, Montreal, who created a rousing ‘conference opener’ with their original musical composition; and to the wonderful Mark-Anthony Bradley who provided wardrobe. The film received a great response from delegates during the opening ceremony. As the Imperial Sponsors of the World Congress of Accountants 2014, an event held every four years, the CIMA & AICPA were delighted to have gained global awareness of the CGMA brand and designation.
