Xbox Recreates Juventus vs Real Madrid Match Report with Their Iconic Controller

Xbox is revealing the moves behind one of the world’s biggest football matches.

Following last week’s drama-filled match, which saw Juventus knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, McCann London created a unique match report for Xbox to teach readers how to recreate the highlights on its iconic controller.

The match report, published in the London Evening Standard’s sports section, translated the players’ moves into the corresponding Xbox combinations. Shots became Bs, passes As, and so on; meaning football fans can instantly recreate the moves from the game on their console at home, helping them to become better at the game.

Laurence Thomson, Co-president and Chief Creative Officer at McCann London, said: “We saw a unique opportunity to take advantage of the buzz from this gigantic match and turn it into a lesson for all football fans and gamers out there.”

“This is a gift for our football loving fans that shows them how they can recreate incredible football, from world-famous footballers, on their own couch, with Xbox,” added Michael Flatt, Global Integrated Marketing, Xbox.

The match report is part of the wider campaign, “Xbox One and Football. A beautiful combination.” Past work includes a 60” tutorial by the stars of Real Madrid and real-time social media activity that translated football highlights into button combinations.
