Waterstones Proclaims the Pleasures

Leagas Delaney new ad campaign for UK chain Waterstones Proclaims the Pleasures

Waterstones, the UK’s last remaining chain book store launches a stunning print campaign this week to remind consumers of the joy of book browsing.

Created by Leagas Delaney and released just before the Christmas retail period, this traditional campaign highlights the pleasure of book hunting within a bookshop. Smart and savvy, the sharp taglines juxtaposed with eye-catching creative leave a memorable and impactful message with the audience

The campaign is set to run across outdoor, within all leading UK newspapers, throughout London Underground and at key outdoor digital sites within the capital, Glasgow and Birmingham. All media is through OMD.

Nigel Roberts, Creative Director at Leagas Delaney, said: “It’s never been easier to buy books. They’re in supermarkets, petrol stations and obviously on the internet. But buying a book isn’t just about convenience or price. It’s about the irreplaceable pleasure of discovery that only a good bookshop can offer. People still love books. But we need to remind them to love their bookshops.”
