VML Announces Two High-level Promotions and New Hire in its Channel Activation Department

The three new hires will help develop the social media, commerce and public relations infrastructure of the agency

VML has announced three new moves in its channel activation department. The channel activation department is home to VML services including social media, paid media, CRM, paid and organic search, commerce, mobility, and public relations.

 

Amy Worley has been promoted to executive director, channel activation. In this role, Worley ensures that VML delivers fully integrated communications planning as well as best-in-class expertise in every communications channel including social media, paid media, CRM, paid and organic search, commerce, mobility, and public relations. Worley leads a channel activation team comprised of nearly 100 people and growing. With her promotion also comes an appointment to VML’s Executive Leadership Team. Worley reports to Brian Yamada, chief innovation officer.

 

Lisa Purpura has been hired as group director, media. Purpura’s hire will help structure the VML media team to position it for future growth and success. She comes to VML from Havas Media in Chicago, where she was vice president, account director, since 2015. In that role, she was responsible for Safelite, the American Medical Association, and new business online and offline media planning and execution. Purpura has more than 17 years of online and offline media planning experience and has held roles as media director, engagement director and online strategy director throughout her career. Additionally, as group director, media, she will be responsible for the vision and strategic direction of the VML media team. She will report to Worley.

 

Madeline Nies has been promoted to group channel director, connections planning. Nies joined VML’s channel team in 2013. In her new role, she will lead the integrated channel connections planning capability from the VML Chicago office. She will provide strategic leadership across paid, owned and earned brand engagements, ensuring communications are effectively connecting with consumers in the right places at the right moments. Nies will continue to guide VML Chicago’s client partners — namely Tyson, Kimberly-Clark, Wells Enterprises and Panama Tourism — and add value to integrated teams across the VML North America network. Nies has a diverse background of experience for multi-brand, multimillion-dollar clients spanning CPG, travel and tourism, tech/mobile devices, and alcohol. She will report to Worley.
