Urban Acquires Argentina's Mora y Araujo

Urban Grupo De Comunicacion has announced the purchase of the corporate reputation and crisis management consultancy Mora y Araujo.

The acquisition of Mora y Araujo implies the transference of the whole of the consultancy's customer portfolio, along with the services provided to these, to Urban Grupo de Comunicacion. The union seeks to leverage the expertise of both companies through the integration of diverse professional profiles and talents. With this move, Urban hopes to consolidate itself as the strongest independent communication group in Argentina.

Former associate of Mora y Araujo, Paula Fernández, will become part of Urban professional staff as Associate Director, whereas Manuel Mora y Araujo will continue to work as political consultant.

In view of the complementary nature of their expert knowledge, the combination of these two consultancies is especially meaningful for the industry, considering a market which has exhibited more fragmentation than unity over the years. This means a huge challenge given the current times, where the communication industry is permanently being revised due to the speed and scale of the changes it undergoes.

With this purchase, the company founded by Verónica Cheja, Silvia Maggiani and Gabriela Korovsky wraps us a year hat has seen it open several new business units: Content, Digital, Public Affairs, the development and organization of the largest sustainability event Sustainable Brands in Argentina, and the development of Urban as regional network with the inauguration of Viento Sur-URBAN in Asunción, Paraguay, joining the existing operations in Chile and Colombia.
