Former VP of Digital at Ammunition joins San Francisco office
Full-service digital agency Ueno has hired Aaron Poe as brand creative director. Poe started on Oct. 17 and reports to CEO Halli Thorleifsson.

Since 2006, Poe has focused on brand development for clients with physical and digital products—both global heavyweights and early-stage start-ups. This experience has positioned him at the intersection of technology and culture with a human-centred approach to digital design and creative direction.

“We knew we wanted someone that could hit the ground running and jump straight into leading the brand team at Ueno,” Thorleifsson said. “It wasn’t easy, but we finally found Aaron, and we instantly knew we had someone special. I can’t wait to see what he cooks up!”

Poe comes to Ueno from San Francisco studio Ammunition, where he worked since 2010. As VP of Digital, he led the User Interface team, which created experiences for global brands and technology startups such as Acorns, UNICEF and Lark. During an earlier stint at Ammunition, Poe served as a creative director and as senior art director on the Beats by Dre account. He left the studio in 2015 to work at Cinco Design in Portland, Oregon, then returned in 2016. Poe will lead branding projects for Ueno and will work on Google and Uber, specifically.

“Ueno designs simple and meaningful products and experiences that grow brand loyalty and bring value to clients,” said Poe, who’s been a fan of the agency for years. “As the studio continues to grow, I will help guide Ueno in brand strategy and identity design and strengthen our integrated disciplines.”

Ueno - which also has offices in Los Angeles, New York and Reykjavik - designs and builds beautiful digital products, brands and experiences. The agency’s clients include Progressive, Uber, ESPN, Airbnb, Dropbox, Apple, Visa, Reuters, Fitbit, Verizon, Cisco and Google.
