Rodes Ponzer joins as Global Brand Leader & Carrie Lipper, Ben Muldrew & Khara Wagner as Group Account Directors

TBWA\Chiat\Day New York has appointed former Saatchi & Saatchi NY Executive Vice President Rodes Ponzer as Global Brand Leader on the Accenture account. The agency has also hired three new Group Account Directors: Carrie Lipper to lead the BNY Mellon account; Ben Muldrew to run the Michelin business; and Khara Wagner, who will lead the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Nutrilite accounts.

 

The appointments mark the first set of key hires under TBWA\Chiat\Day NY CEO Rob Schwartz, who joined to lead the agency in January of this year.

Rodes Ponzer joins the agency from Saatchi & Saatchi New York, where he was EVP, Worldwide Management Director for General Mills since 2011, focusing on Big G Cereals and Meals brands including Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Progresso. Rodes helped to lead a successful transformation of the Cheerios brand, culminating in one of the most popular Super Bowl spots of 2014. Prior to leading General Mills, Rodes led Saatchi NY’s Pampers account for nearly six years as VP, Regional Business Director for Procter & Gamble Baby Care, and also aided in agency new business efforts. A graduate of Franklin & Marshall college, Rodes began his advertising career at Young & Rubicam New York, where he as an Account Executive on Campbell’s Chunky Soup.

 

Carrie Lipper comes to TBWA from fellow Omnicom shop BBDO, where she began her career in 2003 and has spent 12 years leading global B2B and B2C brands across a wide variety of categories.  Most recently, Carrie was SVP, Director on the Mars Inc. M&M’s business both in the U.S. and globally. Prior to M&M’s, she was VP, Account Director on the Johnson & Johnson account, working across several J&J core brands including Johnson’s Baby, Desitin, Band-Aid and Neosporin. She also worked as VP, Account Director on the General Electric business and served as an Account Supervisor on Pizza Hut. Carrie is a graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in Human Development.

 

Ben Muldrew joins the New York office from Nissan United, a dedicated Omnicom unit comprised of leaders from Nissan’s global agencies, including TBWA. As Group Account Director, Ben coordinated and oversaw creative, financial and business operations across TBWA network offices servicing the global Nissan business. Prior to joining the Nissan United team, Ben serviced the Nissan client as an Account Director at TBWA\Chiat\Day offices in both Los Angeles and Nashville.  He also spent time at Weirather-Wenzel & Partner (WWP) in Austria as a Senior Manager developing a motorsport sponsorship initiative for Volkswagen and nine of its key brands: Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, MAN, Ducati, Seat and Skoda. Ben started his career at Arnold, in Boston, where he honed his skills in various account management positions working with a host of brands including ESPN, truth, Volkswagen, and Boston Market restaurants.

 

Khara Wagner joins from Walton Isaacson, where she was Group Account Director across several Unilever brands, including Degree, Dove, Ponds, and Clear. She also directed multicultural strategy and developed social media campaigns for Verizon. Prior to Walton Issacson, Khara was with G2 (a division of Grey Worldwide) where she helped to launch large-scale integrated campaigns for pharmaceutical brands LATISSE and ACTONEL. Her wellness background also includes work on CLARITIN, CHANTIX and IMITREX brands during stints at EURO RSCG, Saatchi & Saatchi and Grey Worldwide. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Khara began her career working in business development for BBH New York.
