Touching new film follows a child’s first day at school in Rio De Janeiro

tantrum’s Amanda Blue directed this emotional online film for Persil which reveals the brand is teaming up with Unicef to help 10 million children around the world access a quality education.

The film centres around a child’s first day at school, with heartwarming interviews from real-life mothers from around the world as they describe their feelings about that special day. We focus on one particular story of a Brazilian boy and his mother living in a favela high in the hills above Rio De Janeiro. The film captures the boy’s actual first day at school whilst his mother describes the difficulties of living in a favela and what it means to her that her son has been given the chance to be properly educated. They still have a long road ahead of them but these are the important first steps….

The film went live in the UK on the Persil Youtube channel on 24 August 2015 and has already received over 600,000 hits.
