With a life story that truly epitomises this, No7’s latest protagonist, Lisa Andersen, is a surfer who broke the sport’s mould and has paved the way for many women to follow in her wake.

Lisa is a US-based four time World Champion surfer. Named as one of the 100 Greatest Sportswomen of the Century by Sports Illustrated magazine she has been inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame. Florida-born Lisa has won almost every surf title there is, multiple times. Starting aged 13 (in the 1980s, when women's surfing was underground, and surfing in general was seen as a man's sport), Lisa Andersen worked hard to impress her peers with her smooth but aggressive style. After making competitive history as a single mum, Anderson soon became a surfing icon, transforming women's surfing more than any surfer before her. Now 49, Lisa still enjoys surfing, her relentless passion and commitment being a source of inspiration for women all around the world.
