Strange Beast's Anna Ginsburg and Hannah Jacobs Collaborate for Selfridges
The finished film tells the story of sustainability throughout Selfridges in an engaging and beautiful animation
Celebrating sustainability within Selfridges, Strange Beast directors Anna Ginsburg and Hannah Jacobs have collaborated on a 2D animated film.
Interviews with Selfridges staff from the shop floor to Headquarters were carried out capturing the range of work and efforts made throughout the company in the name of sustainability.
The interviews are accompanied by beautiful hand drawn animations bringing together Hannah and Anna’s unique styles in a true collaboration.
Drawing from each director’s style, the main challenge was visualising such large and abstract concepts alongside simpler ones.
Finding a way for ‘banana bread’ to live seamlessly beside the concept of ‘inspiring change through legacy’ led to Hannah and Anna creating a textured visual style that encompasses the home grown, nature of the efforts made by staff.
The finished film tells the story of sustainability throughout Selfridges in an engaging and beautiful way offering an insight into the commitment to the future made by the business and the dedication of the team.
