Jacob Fain said: “I continue to be grateful for Marty and Danny for their confidence in me and the work we are doing signing and developing great artists and songwriters. Jacob Fain has been with Sony/ATV for the past 10 years, having joined as Manager of A&R in January 2008 before being promoted to VP, A&R. In his time with the company his signings have included the Grammy-winning The Chainsmokers who have been one of the most successful acts of recent years with hits including the worldwide No. 1 “Closer,” “Don’t Let Me Down” and the Coldplay duet “Something Just Like This,” which was Spotify’s fourth most-streamed song of 2017 and the third most-played song on U.S. radio. The duo’s debut album Memories…Do Not Open entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 last April and has to date achieved more than 1 million total U.S. sales.

Among the other acts signed by him are R&B/soul star Leon Bridges whose first album Coming Home went Top 10 in the U.S. and U.K. and was nominated for a Grammy, the alternative group Of Monsters And Men whose debut album My Head Is An Animal sold more than 2 million copies worldwide and Chase Rice who co-wrote the Florida Georgia Line hit “Cruise” which is the biggest-selling country digital download of all time in the U.S. with more than 7.6 million sales.

Fain additionally signed rising hip-hop phenomenon Russ who was one of the most-streamed acts of last year in the U.S. and whose introductory album There’s Really A Wolf reached the Billboard Top 10 and was RIAA-certified for 500,000 sales.

He is also responsible for developing and running Sony/ATV’s Research & Analytics department, which serves the company’s offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami, London, Paris, Stockholm and Sydney. It has modernized the process of music discovery and evaluation for Sony/ATV, allowing the company to find songwriters and artists quicker than ever before and assess deals more accurately.
