Brazil leads the Saatchi & Saatchi agency with 14 Lions

Saatchi & Saatchi celebrated a record number of Lions for the network at Cannes Lions 2015, capping a successful week with a Grand Prix in Film awarded to F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi Brazil for Leica ‘100’.  Brazil was the leading Saatchi & Saatchi agency with 14 Lions.

Saatchi & Saatchi Switzerland took home an impressive 9 Lions, including 2 Gold, for their ground breaking HIV+ issue for Vangardist Magazine, a brave initiative that has attracted worldwide media attention and proved ‘Nothing Is Impossible’. Saatchi & Saatchi Switzerland was the 2nd highest ranking agency in the network.

Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney won an Innovation Lion for their ‘Penny the Pirate’ campaign for OPSM.  Sydney also won an Effectiveness Lion for ‘Penny the Pirate’.

Pablo Del Campo, Worldwide Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi commented: “Over 13,500 delegates from more than 100 countries attended Cannes Lions 2015, and a record number of award entries (over 40,000) were registered.  So in a year where the competition was greater than ever, Saatchi & Saatchi performed better than ever, with entries from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Italy, Miami, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA (Miami) taking home Lions, proving that creativity within our network is truly global and inspiring us to set the bar even higher in 2016.”

The 25th Anniversary New Directors’ Showcase was celebrated at Cannes Lions with a one-off screening for 2,300 Cannes delegates of ‘25x25: An Experiment in Film’.  ‘25x25’ was created by 25 NDS alumni; Daniel Kleinman, Dawn Shadforth, Floria Sigismondi, Jonathan Glazer, Michel Gondry, Ivan Zacharias, Traktor, Dante Ariola, Ringan Ledwidge, Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, Carl Erik Rinsch, Noam Murro, Tim Bullock, Dougal Wilson, James Rouse, Jamie Rafn, Fredrik Bond, Philippe Andre, Jake Scott, Ne-o, David Wilson, Daniel Wolfe, Ilya Naishuller, Vania Heymann and Charlie Robins.  AdAge called the NDS event ‘a dazzling experiment in film’.  ‘25x25’ introduced the NDS Class of 2015, 14 outstanding new talents whose work you can view here.

Robert Senior, Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide CEO commented: “What Paul Arden started in 1991 as a one-off event has become the best attended and highest rated Cannes Lions event outside of the awards.  Cannes is a magnificent circus of creativity.  Many companies bring wonderful celebrities to add extra topspin, but Saatchi & Saatchi brings complete unknowns to celebrate their willingness and impulse to cross frontiers and try something new.”
