Saatchi & Saatchi Brings New Directors' Showcase to New York City

Saatchi & Saatchi brings its legendary New Directors’ Showcase (NDS) to New York City for the first time. The event will be co-hosted by Saatchi NY’s CEO Brent Smart & Chief Creative Officer Jay Benjamin and held on Thursday, July 17th at the beautiful Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). 

Following the NDS Screening, the highly esteemed Editor of Creativity Magazine, Ann Christine Diaz, will moderate a lively panel discussion with influencers from the worlds of film, advertising and creativity.  A live musical performance by X Ambassadors and set from DJ Dave Hodge of Finger Music and Leisure Cruise will follow the panel discussion.  Follow on #NDSNYC14  #feelthereel.

The NDS has been enchanting audiences at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for the past 24 years and has earned a reputation for unearthing directing talent of the future, with NDS alumni including iconic directors Spike Jonze, Michael Gondry, Tarsem and Jonathan Glazer.   

To find the featured directors, Saatchi & Saatchi invites submissions from directors around the world, utilizing its Network of some 130 offices worldwide, and its relationships with key on-line sources.  The Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Creative Board, with creative direction from recently appointed Worldwide Creative Director Pablo Del Campo, made a final selection of 19 films by 18 directors.  

This year the reel has a typically eclectic mix of music videos, animated shorts, humor, erotica, surrealism and the grotesque.  The 18 Directors selected for the New Directors’ Showcase reel 2014 hail from Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Switzerland, UK and the USA.
