From Elvis to Elton John, Las Vegas is all about big sounds. This week Ramesh Sathiah, Creative Director & Composer Song Zu, is leading a team of experts to channel the spirit of the Rat Pack at the Sands and judge the very best of the London International Awards Music & Sound category. Addison Capper caught up with Ramesh.
LBB> What words of advice did you give to your jury for this year's London International Awards?
RS> Only thing I would say is 'have and open mind and enjoy the process'.
LBB> What were you hoping to see from the entries?
RS> We need to separate what is very good work to what is exceptional. A top music company is expected to do great work. It’s what they get paid to do. To win an award a LIA it has got to be showing original thinking, extreme skill, and of course a strong relationship with the idea.
LBB> What do you think about the LIA bringing over a group of young creatives for the 'Creative Conversations'?
RS> I think it’s a great opportunity for young creatives to hear ideas from the top creatives in the industry. I look forward to being involved myself!
LBB> What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Aside from judging, what are you looking forward to?
RS> Well I am not hoping to re-create 'The Hangover'… but after the work is done I am keen for an 'old fashioned' or two.
