Nathan Eastwood to head up exciting new global entertainment company

Pulse and Abot Hameiri have announced the launch of their new entertainment company.  East Entertainment will combine the strengths of both companies to produce exciting new global entertainment and reality formats.

Since its foundation in 2005, Pulse’s ambition has been to house a team of the most remarkable creators, directors, producers and writers and provide an environment that encourages them to excel. This modern and multi-disciplinary business model has allowed them to become significant players on the global stage, focusing on creating innovative, culturally relevant and award-winning content across all platforms - film, branded entertainment, premium digital content and linear television.  2015 will see them take great strides in the TV and IP markets on a global scale.

Israeli-based production house Abot Hameiri, owned and managed by Eitan Abot and Guy Hameiri, is the production house behind a large part of the prime-time broadcast line up within the country, Abot Hameiri has a reputation for creating and delivering original formats that translate on a global level - including The Power Couple, The Band, TLV and 24/7 Love Lab. Revered for its innovative thinking, professionalism and high quality production values, the company’s credits also include the Israeli versions of International formats such as X Factor, Survivor, Amazing Race, Beauty and the Geek and The Bachelor.

Pulse CEO Thomas Benski explains: “The launch of East Entertainment comes at a time where we want to bullishly attack the TV and IP market. We believe that the combination of Nathan’s experience and track record in creating and producing prime-time shows, Pulse’s modern approach to entertainment and IP and Abot Hamieri’s world-renowned reputation as a high-end producer and creator of global entertainment formats, is incredibly exciting. I feel proud to be working alongside such dynamic and creative entrepreneurs and programme-makers. To be able to leverage Guy’s impressive production capabilities and Israel’s track record of creating hit global formats will be a real asset. Furthermore we are excited about using the UK as the launch pad for this new venture. We believe we have what it takes to create the next wave of hit global formats, by bringing all our diverse skillsets under one banner in the form of East Entertainment.

Abot Hameiri CEO Guy Hameiri says his company’s relationship with Pulse was a natural step: “As a company, we saw a great synergy between our experience in creating and producing big prime-time formats and Pulse’s forward thinking approach to content and delivery methods. The launch of East Entertainment is incredibly exciting and we look forward to a partnership capable of challenging the existing television landscape and changing it for the better.”

East Entertainment will be headed up by newly appointed Managing Director, Nathan Eastwood. Nathan has nearly 20 years of experience across a wealth of big entertainment shows including TFI Friday, Bansai, Richard & Judy, X Factor, Hell’s Kitchen, Balls of Steel and Bad Robots. His talents were most recently rewarded with a BAFTA - for the award-winning show, The Cube.

Nathan will further bolster both companies’ credentials within the television space and firmly cement Pulse and Abot Hameiri as key players within the sector. Nathan also has excellent credentials in rolling out content into multiple countries across the world, a talent that compliments both companies’ track records in developing original content that translates across multiple continents.

Commenting on his new role, Nathan adds: “I’m really excited to be launching East Entertainment with Pulse and Abot Hameiri. The sheer volume of talent and creativity within both companies is inspirational - the instant chemistry was matched by a mutual ambition to develop and deliver big entertainment shows that combine quality and popularity worldwide. We have ambitious growth plans on a global scale that will further intensify both companies’ position as key international players within the television space.”
