Production Company HAMLET Opens Berlin Office

Hamlet is a play by Shakespeare. And a cigar brand. But a Hamlet is also a small village. Not even a village - more like a small group of houses. And that is where the Brussels-based production company HAMLET derives its name from. The studio is a community populated with creative craftsmen, forging memorable stories and powerful content for new and old media, experimenting with form, structure and cutting-edge technology.

Launched in 2015 by Ruben Goots and Jason Felstead, HAMLET has positioned itself as a high-end production company over the past three years and offers an exciting roster of 20 directors from all over the world. Clients include brands like Adidas, Uniqlo, Nike, Lexus, ING, AB Inbev and Bridgestone amongst others and agencies such as Wieden+Kennedy, Jung von Matt, BBDO, DDB and Ogilvy.

HAMLET now also operates out of Berlin under the lead of Berlin-based executive producer and managing partner Jens Gröger.

Jason Felstead comments: "Jens has a powerful track record of producing advertising films for the German market with top directors. We are delighted to welcome him as the managing partner of the Berlin team. Berlin is more than ever becoming the creative capital of Europe and a lot of leading agencies have opened up offices here.”

Says Ruben Goots: “With HAMLET we’ve planned to expand internationally right from the start. The choice for Germany was quite obvious; this is an exciting market with a lot of world leading brands and industries. But the most important factor to set up shop in Germany is the fact that the German creative industry has taken quite a turn these last few years and that leads to good work. And that is what we do with our highly experienced team and our culture of experimentation: we make ground-breaking work for global brands. From the most viewed online Nike film in China, to artistic projects that go beyond the gimmick in VR, to captivating stories of human endeavour.”

Jens Gröger says: “With Hamlet, Jason and Ruben have created a place where talent finds a home; directors, producers, actors and writers with memorable stories to tell. They join in, stay for a while and then maybe move on, but never without leaving their mark. I’m very much looking forward to contribute to the growth of our hamlet whilst keeping up this philosophy.”

These past months HAMLET produced their first films out of the Berlin office, one of them being the Adidas campaign ‘We Rise to Run’, for Jung von Matt Hamburg and directed by Andreas Roth.
