Over the course of the three day festival more than five hundred acts played - here are the agency's favourites
After a weekend at The Great Escape Festival we feel very spoilt here at Pitch & Sync. During that time we were lucky enough to check out first hand a whirlwind of new artists, musical showcases and industry gatherings. Brighton was bustling with the sounds of not just the sea!

Over the course of the three day festival, more than five hundred acts ranging from the weird, to the wonderful, crammed themselves in to the city’s pubs, clubs, hotels, bars, gardens, beach fronts and streets to perform. Just the vast amount of talent on show at this was enough to get us that little bit more charged and ready let alone the quality of who and what was of offer.

So here’s what we saw, and simply can’t get enough of:

It’s Manchester meets Bruce Springsteen with this act. Interestingly each member sings lead on their own compositions, but Ten Fé are strongest when dreamily harmonising together. Their combination of pleasing piano hooks, majestic synths, and memorable melodies are why they deserve a place on our list.

Out from the midst of the smoke filled venue on the seafront appeared Goat Girl. With queues stretching far and wide from the venue we knew we were in for a treat. The show proved to be bright and attainable, with plenty of offbeat acuity and many an unexpected twist down gothic punk country roads.

We seem to keep banging on about this man, but for good reason. A show full of punk infused jazz which undulates from seductive and deeply passionate, to emotive and all the way round again. If Puma Blue isn’t on your radar yet, he should be.

An unforgettable show from Kamaal Williams AKA Henry Wu. This proved to be an excellent soundtrack to our Friday night down in Brighton. A cross pollination of hip hop & jazz, with hefty drum chops, and a mix of wilfully flamboyant bass playing. The crowd moved with every drum beat and each bass flick. With an EP on the way - we can’t wait.

We seemingly stumbled across this gig which was by no means on purpose. But this was probably one of the best stumbles we could have wished for. At only 19 the maturity of this man's performance was way beyond his years. HIs sound is both fresh and as old as the hills. He rasped his way over a lo-fi guitar, synth and drum mix as a few audience members tried to dance to the music. But most were simply digesting what they were hearing.

This show only further proved that South London born Flohio is destined for the very top of UK rap. Fizzing with personality her flow is striking. When the South London MC opens her mouth, she deploys her words with the effortless precision and assertiveness of a seasoned veteran.

We managed to catch Peach Pit towards the end of our three day Brighton trip. While we were expectantly feeling a little worse for wear, Peach Pit managed to claw us out from the depths of our hangover with a sound we’d describe as glitter-punk to warm up any crowd.

Mina Rose represents the weird and wonderful we previously mentioned. Showcasing her beliefs in a multicultural world, she takes her different backgrounds and mixes them into one strong bold move. Swinging in between electronic sounds and organic elements. This lady has a bright future!

How else to finish off our festival? Indulgent, complex, thoughtful and immediate. Sons of Kemet’s wickedly conceptual rhythms contradict the overriding catchiness of a sound that dishes out hooks a plenty. Just brilliant!
