OMD Sydney has appointed Gideon Hornung to the position of head of strategy on McDonald’s
With over 10 years’ experience in the industry, he has led the strategic product for a number of clients in Australia, including NAB, GE, Carlton & United Brewery and Danone.
Hornung brings with him a deep understanding of consumers and retail, having previously worked five years client side across marketing and insights at organisations such as Coles.
This appointment serves as a further reinforcement of OMD’s elevated strategic offering, as seen with the recent hire of Mat Rawnsley from The Monkeys and Dan Bye from M&C Saatchi.

He will report to Gavin Gibson, effective immediately.
